Cast Boy and a Contest

I just realized that I haven't posted a picture or the story of Cast Boy. Who is Cast Boy, you ask?

He is my 16 month old son.

It's been a bit hectic around here since Austin fell off the bench by my kitchen table and broke his arm in not one, not two, but THREE places! I took him to Instacare, but one of the fractures was at a 50% angle so they sent me to the ER where they set his arm in a splint with a mobile Xray machine. He didn't even cry. The doctors and nurses were so amazed, because the only time he did cry was when I had to go to the bathroom and the doctor held him. He's such a mellow fellow, and he must have a high pain tolerance!

Then he pulled what I'm calling a "Houdini" because somehow, with his arm tucked inside his onesie and zipped in his sleeper, he got his arm out of the splint.

So then we had to rush to the doctor again, get more X-rays and have it set again.
This is a picture of the first layer of the cast.

They wrapped it and the doctor pushed on his arm to straighten out the bones, then X-rayed it again to see if they were straight enough. My poor child had about 7 different pictures taken of his bones!

He didn't cry when he got his cast either because I gave him a sucker.

He has has some hard days, but is doing pretty good and we're counting down the days until he gets his cast off--and trying to keep him from climbing all over the furniture and breaking his other arm.

So I told you I wanted to have some giveaways to countdown to the launch of my next novel, CALLER ID.

In honor of Cast Boy and crazy antics, I thought this prize would be perfect. A copy of Tristi Pinkston's latest book, Targets in Ties.

The Secret Sisters, Ida Mae, Arlette, and Tansy are always getting into trouble. You can see my review here, and surmise why this book goes along perfectly with this blog post.

Celebrate with me as we count down the days until my book's birthday, March 13, 2012. If I were really organized at this point and hadn't spent lots of extra time in the hospital and doctor's offices, I would tell you what to expect. Instead, I will keep you in suspense, and since that's the genre Caller ID falls in, it's all good, right?
All you have to do to enter is leave a comment with your email address. You have until tomorrow, Saturday, February 25, 2012 at midnight to enter.  Please read my Liability Disclosures and Policy statement before entering giveaways hosted here. This contest open to everyone, U.S. and international.

What should I give away next? More books, chocolate, scrapbooking swag? I have some great ideas for giveaways, but what do you think?
