Feeding Baby Review & Giveaway

My sweet new baby is almost three months old already and so I've been reading and studying lots on nutrition for me (the breast-feeding mama) and for this 5th baby. I've learned a lot and this book is one I wish I could have read before I had my first child. Clancy Cash Harrison is extremely knowledgeable and Feeding Baby is so much more than a cookbook.
Filled with tips and instruction as well as detailed information about your growing baby and how to introduce foods, this book is a gem. I love Clancy's approach and the permission she extends to parents to have stress-free meals with your children and still introduce lots of new and healthy foods.

The charts that she includes in the book for introducing foods, different ways to prepare vegetables, and more are really invaluable. That's why I think it's so fantastic that I get to offer you one of her favorite charts from the book for FREE using this link:

Every parent should read this book, even if your kids are older than toddlers! Every grandparent should have a chance to study this book as well so they can support their grandchildren in healthy eating and food introduction without pressure.
Do you have a picky eater? This book teaches that some behaviors we label as picky aren't necessarily so. It also gives ideas and info to get through those so-called "picky" phases which I think are wonderful!

I'm impressed with this book and so glad that I can refer to it with my new baby.
There is a huge giveaway in conjunction with the book release. Find out more here I received a copy of this book for review from the publisher. My opinions are my own and I always share honest reviews.

Bible Inspired Rubber Band Jewelery

Have you seen the colorful and stretchy rubber band bracelets around that are all the craze? My daughters, age 11 and 9 have been making these for friends and family. We were thrilled to get the new book by Katreina Eden,

Bible Bands: Create Your Own Faith-Based Rubber Band Jewelry, 13 Loom Designs!

My daughters loved the full color photographs and instructions. We enjoyed looking through the book and noticing the significance of the Bible themes woven into colors and patterns. It's fun to create something that can remind us of our Savior.
I liked that the instructions helped my girls see how they could make the jewelery featured and gave them ideas for adapting the patterns too.
With Christmas approaching, this is an excellent gift idea. The rubber band sets and looms are inexpensive and so versatile, added to this book would make lots of kids happy!

New Book by John Bytheway, How Do I Know If I Know?

In John Bytheway's latest book, he explores the confidence that we can gain in our own beliefs and testimony.
Now, more than ever, young people are asking insightful and important questions about testimony, worthiness, mission preparation, and more. John Bytheway discusses ways we can come to know that the restored gospel is true, and—more importantly— how to know that we know.
I'm currently reading this book and as usual, Bytheway's examples and ideas have sparked a deeper understanding of the gospel. I love how he encourages us to be bold in our testimony, to learn what we truly believe and keep working on it. I think it's kind of a new concept for most people to understand that a testimony is something that can keep growing stronger--it's not just a one time thing you gain and never have to think about again. You can gain a testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel and then keep learning and growing until your testimony reaches a new level.

In  the book, John uses an acronym, F.E.E.L. as a way to understand all of the ways that we can have a testimony, on so many different levels of knowledge and understanding.
I'm grateful for my testimony of Jesus Christ, my savior and redeemer.

I'm keeping this book handy on my shelf because I think it will be a great resource for my children as they grown and learn in the gospel.

Here's more about the book:

In How Do I Know If I Know? John Bytheway discusses different
ways we may come to know that the restored gospel is true.
He suggests that we “F.E.E.L.” the truthfulness of the gospel
through our feelings, our experiences, the many evidences we
encounter, and our logical conclusions of how a loving God
interacts with His children on the earth. Like turning up
a dimmer switch, understanding all the ways we F.E.E.L. a
testimony will help to make it brighter. As you read, you may
discover that your testimony is stronger than you thought, and
you’ll also form a plan for helping it to grow.

John Bytheway served a mission to the Philippines and later
graduated from Brigham Young University. A favorite speaker
and teacher, John holds a master’s degree in religious education
and is a part-time instructor at BYU. John is the author of many
bestselling books, audio talks, and DVDs, including How to Be
an Extraordinary Teen; When Times Are Tough: 5 Scriptures
That Will Help You Get through Almost Anything; Life Rocks;
Isaiah for Airheads; and his first children’s picture book, The
Sacrament. He and his wife, Kimberly, have six children.
